Privacy and data handling
This page explains what MygrateUs stores in the current release, how it supports relocation planning,
and where to verify requirements with official sources.
What MygrateUs stores
- Account credentials managed by Django authentication (hashed passwords).
- Profile preferences you enter for relocation planning (passport, education, family stage, budget, climate, language, work field).
- Selected destination country, checklist progress, priorities, and due dates.
- Document vault files and document metadata (document type and upload timestamp).
What the data is used for
- Generate and maintain your destination-specific checklist and dashboard.
- Store and organise planning documents in your document vault.
- Support matching recommendations based on your questionnaire preferences.
- Power premium reminder settings and reminder queue previews (if enabled).
- When language translation is enabled, send page text snippets to Google Cloud Translation API to return translated content.
What MygrateUs does not do
- MygrateUs does not provide legal advice or immigration representation.
- MygrateUs does not submit visa applications or government forms on your behalf.
- MygrateUs does not replace official government immigration guidance and source verification.
Retention and deletion (current MVP behavior)
- Profile, checklist, and document records remain in your account until removed or reset.
- Checklist tasks can be updated or reopened at any time from the checklist page.
- Document vault files can be replaced or removed by the signed-in account owner.
- Demo seed/reset commands may create or restore a demo account for presentation use.
Security and access controls (current MVP)
- Authenticated pages require sign-in for onboarding, checklist, destination details, and document vault tools.
- Document deletion actions are user-scoped and require a signed-in account.
- Document uploads are validated server-side for file type, MIME type, and size before storage.
- Keyboard-visible focus states and accessible labels are used across core flows.
Important: This MVP demonstrates planning workflows and account-based organisation.
Do not upload highly sensitive originals in shared/public demo environments.
Source verification and planning boundaries
Country guidance in MygrateUs supports planning decisions. Routes, requirements, forms, and
deadlines can change and must be confirmed with official government sources.
- Use the official source links shown on each Destination Details page (after selecting a country).
- Recheck official sources before submitting documents, booking appointments, or making payments.
- Use MygrateUs as a planning layer, not a replacement for legal or government advice.
If you are evaluating the MVP, this page supports trust, transparency, and compliance positioning.
